{Loving} Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick

There is only one word to describe this lipstick..... AMAZING!

It took me a while to purchase Kat Von D's Everlasting lipstick.  Why?  The price.  You would think, spending $20 for a lip color shouldn't hold me back.  After all, I buy MAC lipsticks at $17.  This one is only a few dollars more right?  But here is my reason.  It's a liquid lipstick.  A MAC lipstick will last me quite a while, a liquid lipstick, will likely be gone in half the time.  Another reason, what if I didn't like the consistency?  What if it was dry? What about longevity?  But Lolita was just calling my name.  Finally, I just took the plunge.

My review:  The color goes on creamy.  Unlike many matte liquid lippies that give you little time to apply, this lippie takes a couple of minutes to dry to matte.  Which is great because with many other liquid matte lipsticks, it is very obvious the areas you've made corrections or filled in.  As far as wear, I literally only touch up once throughout the day.  I am able to drink coffee and eat and not have to worry that my lipstick is gone.  And the color is amazing.  Black Friday I purchased "Truth or Dare".  But there is a reason why "Lolita" does not stay on the shelves for long.  The color is simply amazing.

{Make Me Up Monday} M.A.C. Surf, Baby

It's been a while since I have visited my favorite place at the mall....the M.A.C. counter.  Of course, I was welcomed back with open arms. LOL

With summer weather in it's full glory, I decided to try to find something new I can use for the summer.  I barely wear, if any, makeup over the summer months.  A smidge of gloss, a touch of mascara and I am out the door.  With the blazing sun and humidity, I rather wear as little as possible.

I decided to take a look at their new Surf, Baby line and found exactly what I was looking for.  Being extremely obsessive about soft, healthy, moisturized lips, their suntints with SPF 20 was the perfect choice.  I purchased "Full of Grace".  It has a hint of a rose colored tint.  And I mean "hint", if someone wants something with more pigmentation, then I would not recommend this product.  I purchased this more so for the sun protection factor, and for the fact it feels super moist.  Most lip protections I've tried in the past go on very waxy or feel incredibly greasy.  Not a good combination when using it in the heat or by the water.  What I found incredible about this was when my MAC consultant demonstrated even emerged in water, it will not wash off easily.  Perfect for use at the beach or pool!

I most definitely recommend giving the M.A.C. Surf, Baby suntints a try.  I happily have added this to my summer make-up bag.

{Make Me Up Monday} MAC Venemous Villians of Disney Collection

The day I was anxiously awaiting for had arrived!
Cruella DaVil

MAC launched their Venomous Villians of Disney Limited Edition Collection.  I am sure I have said it many times before, but I am a huge fan of MAC cosmetics.  Yes, you do spend a little more than your average drugstore brand, and Lord knows, I love to save a buck here and there.  But since being introduced to MAC cosmetics by my sister several years ago (she gave me a very generous birthday gift of an array of eyeshadows and a lipstick), I have become a believer that sometimes, you get what you pay for.  I adore the fact that with MAC cosmetics, a little literally goes a long way.
Dr. Facilier

I stopped by my local MAC store several weeks ago to get a new fall shade of lipstick and was told by my MAC girl, Ebony, the launch for the new line would be on October 1st.  She then invited me to reserve my spot for a makeover and try the new products, no purchase necessary. (Right....like you can go for a makeover at MAC and NOT buy any products, :) )  Of course, having seen the line, I happily obliged.
Malificent

All of the colors were amazing.  I did tend to gravitate towards The Evil Queen.  The makeover was beautiful, as always.  I then carefully made my selections.

Which two items are not the proud new additions to my makeup bag?

Lovely Way to Start a Weekend!

This morning, I woke up with a start when I heard a huge thump.

Me: What was that?
Honey: Sorry, that was the flashlight.
Me: Oh.

The Man comes over and gives me a kiss goodbye.

Me: Honey, can you bring me a cupcake today?

I am a slave to Crumbs cupcakes.  Been craving one this week....  Too bad they don't have any bake shops around here, or else I would be there everyday.  Thinking of it that way....maybe it is a good thing I don't have a Crumbs nearby!

Honey: Monday, OK.  I did leave you something better than a cupcake. I'm sure you will agree.
Me: What is that?
Honey: (goes to his dresser and points at some cash) Pedicure....have fun!

The weekend is indeed off to a great start!

{A Girl Can Never Have Enough} Jewelry

No matter where I am going...whether it be a dinner gathering or out food shopping, a wedding or volunteering at school, there are two things I do not leave home without.  A little lipstick/lipgloss and jewelry.  My engagement ring and wedding band is a given.  But I always like to change up earrings, necklace, and bracelets to my mood.

I guess it is apparent to those individuals I associate with, because before school ended, Lil Miss' teacher approached me about hosting a Lia Sophia party.  To be honest, I had been invited to countless of these parties years ago.  My thoughts were always..."what if I don't like anything?  Then I will feel as though I am obligated to buy something in order to cooperate with the hostess."  Since most of these parties took place on a weekday early evening, and Mr. Man never gets home that early, I had an legitimate excuse to not attend.   Needless to say, I never knew what I was missing out on.  Until this past Christmas....

Lil Miss' teacher was very generous and gave me a present during the class Christmas party I assisted in organizing.  "You are so incredibly helpful and sweet, I wanted to get you a little something as a thank you for all that you do.  Do know also, your help is always much appreciated."  I thanked her profusely for the kind words and the gift.  She really didn't have to.  I was going to wait till Christmas morning to open her present, but Lil' Miss insisted I open it right away.  Inside, delicately displayed inside a cornflower blue box, was this beautiful necklace.

And on the last day of school, she again presented me with a Lia Sophia gift...a necklace with matching earrings.

The offer she had going for July made it too hard for me to pass up.  Buy one full price item, get TWO half off. Best thing about this, you choose which items you want to pay half price. The date was set and I invited my friends who I knew would be interested.  Unfortunately, July is a busy summer month and many people go away.  So instead of a home show, we decided I would host a catalog show.  I ended up selling over $500 in items.  I ended up getting close to $200  in free jewelry, and paid $60 for almost $300 worth of additional jewelry.  Heavenly!

A girl can never have enough jewelry!
